IASS Founding Director Klaus Töpfer continues to be affiliated with the IASS as an Honorary Senior Fellow.

The Fellowship programme at the IASS brings highly qualified people to the Institute, who provide expertise, inspiration, and creative Input, but are not directly engaged in the fulfilment or operation of an IASS project.

The Board of Directors is the governing body of the IASS. The Board defines the strategic focus and research programme of the IASS and engages in dialogue with policymakers, industry, science, and civil society.
