Zukunft gemeinsam gestalten : Fünf Thesen für den deutsch-französischen Dialog

France and Germany are undergoing significant transformations. These processes hold both the risks and opportunities of a future that is being shaped today. With Article 22 of the 2019 Aachen Treaty, the governments of both countries launched the Franco-German Forum for the Future. Its mission: to promote a dialogue around societal transformations by engaging the relevant stakeholders and actors. As part of a long-standing tradition of cooperation between the two nations, the Forum for the Future has explored new forms of dialogue. As the five-year pilot period concludes in September 2025, this paper presents five propositions for the Franco-German dialogue. It advocates for a dialogue between Germany and France on all levels of society in order to jointly steer transformations in Europe, despite national differences.
