Prof. Rubbia receives honorary degree from the University of Split

On December 7^th, 2012, Prof. Carlo Rubbia was awarded a honorary degree by the University of Split for his scientific achievements in the field of physics as well as his contribution to the development and international recognition of the University of Split. The ceremony coincided with the celebration of the institution’s University Day, which featured a speech by the Minister of Science, Education and Sport of Croatia, Dr. Zeljko Jovanovic.

During his stay at the University of Split, Prof. Rubbia gave a lecture on the theme of "The Future of Energy", in which he outlined the importance of finding new ways of producing and using energy, and presented the research activities of the IASS. Prof. Rubbia holds 30 honorary degrees, awarded by universities and academic institutions all over the world.
