Headline: Panel Discussion “The Anthropocene – An Engineered Age?”

Climate engineering is rapidly becoming a controversial issue in political, scientific and cultural discussions of climate change. The Climate Engineering Conference 2014: Critical Global Discussions aims to foster dialogue among different stakeholders from around the world. The conference is organised by the IASS in cooperation with the Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW) and other partners. The closing session at the HKW will reflect on the insights gained over the course of the discussions. In his introduction, Professor Mark Lawrence from the IASS will summarize the main results of the conference. This will be followed by a panel discussion with Professor Klaus Töpfer (IASS), Professor Clive Hamilton (Charles Sturt University) and Professor Armin Grunwald (Office for Technology Assessment at the German Bundestag).

The event will be held in English. Admission is free.
