Thiago Pinto Barbosa is at the IASS since March 2016. He holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Potsdam, Free University of Berlin and Humboldt-University of Berlin (2015) and a Bachelor’s in Anthropology, Sociology and Political Science from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2011). He has previous working experience at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, at the João Pinheiro Foundation (Brazil) and at the Research Group on Environmental Themes (GESTA, Brazil), thereby researching and supporting community projects on different topics such as environmental conflicts, development, land and urban conflicts, agrofuels, agricultural and energy policies. He was a scholarship holder of the Heinrich Böll Foundation between 2013 and 2015. He’s currently pursuing a PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology at the Free University Berlin.
