Kathryn works at the nexus of global environmental change, health and governance issues. Most recently she was a Senior Research Fellow at the Australian National University. Kathryn is also an Honorary Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne. Kathryn regularly advises the World Health Organization (WHO) on climate change and health, as well as other national and international organisations, including GIZ, UNDP, ADB, ICSU and UNITAR. In Melbourne, she has been working with research and practitioner teams to support the development of tools and mechanisms to strengthen the implementation of locally-based green space projects. Kathryn is a Lead Author in three current international reports - IPCC's 6th Assessment Report, the UNEP's Global Environment (GEO-6), and Adaptation Gaps Reports. She is Deputy Coordinator, Social Aspects of Forestry Research Group IUFRO, a member of the Technical Advisory Committee for Agency Harvest Planning (Earth System Governance Project) and a mentor for DAAD. Kathryn is passionate about leading and supporting practical and applied research that is closely linked with policy change and program development in developing contexts.
