Jeff Ardron was a Senior Fellow at the IASS from November 2012 to May 2015. His research focuses on global marine governance in this new era dominated by human activities—the Anthropocene—and on how well existing institutions are adapting to or failing to meet the rising demands of resource exploitation, conservation, transparency and accountability. His research also tracks developments that threaten to disrupt the status quo, redistributing access and stewardship of valuable marine resources more broadly across states, the private sector, and civil society. Mr Ardron is a frequent guest lecturer, and has consulted widely, recently for planning projects in West Africa, Chile, Canada, and the UK. He ntains his involvement in his home country of Canada as President of the Board for the Pacific Marine Analysis and Research Association (PacMARA).
