Clara Mewes supports the research group "Climate Action in National and International Processes" (ClimAct) at the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) in Potsdam. ClimAct investigates and facilitates exchange with forums such as the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC). Clara is also involved in the conception and implementation of the Berlin Climate Citizens' Council. Her research focuses, among other things, on the actors of global climate governance, processes of international climate policy and the communication of climate policy measures as well as integrative policy approaches. Clara pursued a Master's degree in International Affairs at the Hertie School in Berlin where she concentrated on sustainability and security. Her Master's Thesis investigated the impact of the co-benefits concept on clean air and climate policy in Mexico and Nigeria.
