Dr Aura Lupascu is a research associate at the IASS. Her research focuses on the modelling of the transport, transformation, and removal of trace gases and tropospheric aerosols. Dr Lupascu is currently working on a detailed attribution of ozone production to emissions of NOx and VOCs precursors using the regional air quality model WRF-Chem. Her project entails the integration of a method for ‘tagging’ emissions of oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) into the WRF-Chem model. This method provides detailed information about ozone formation mechanisms and quantifies the source contribution to tropospheric ozone at given locations.
