Anne-Kathrin Fischer is a research associate in the research group "Pathways to a Sustainable Energy Supply" at the IASS since November 2020. She is working on social dimensions of the energy transition as part of the Copernicus project "Ariadne - Evidence-based Assessment for the Design of the German Energy Transition". Her academic background is in sociology, political science and media studies. Before joining the IASS, she worked as a research associate on a research project about how public and policy makers deal with global risks at the University of Duisburg-Essen. In her dissertation, she analyzed determinants and contexts of the perception of risks such as climate change. A particular focus of her work was on the influence of media coverage on changes in risk perception. Her current research interest relates to the acceptance of the energy transition by the German public.
