Lausitz

Buchvorstellung: „Wir machen das schon“

Der Strukturwandel in der Lausitz ist nicht mehr zu übersehen. Menschen, die hier leben, forschen, arbeiten und sich engagieren, wissen das längst, und zwar nicht erst seit dem verabredeten Kohleausstieg. Nun werden wieder massive Veränderungen stattfinden, die Unbehagen und Zukunftsängste auslösen, aber auch Hoffnung machen und Chancen auf Mitgestaltung bieten. In dem Buch „Wir machen das schon“, herausgegeben von Johannes Staemmler (IASS Potsdam), erzählen 15 Autorinnen und Autoren aus der Lausitz über die Vielschichtigkeit des Landstrichs in Brandenburg und Sachsen.

Sven Gatter: "Echo Tektur" - Ruins and Models

Artist Sven Gatter has been exploring the theme of vanishing architecture in rural areas since his residency at Brandenburg's Wiepersdorf Palace. He refers to the resulting works as "Echo Tektur". A selection of his work will be showing at the CB Dieselkraftwerk in Cottbus from 4 September 2021.

From 9 to 18 August 2021 the seventh virtual Potsdam Summer School will explore the theme of “Water: Our Global Common Good – The Hydrosphere across Land and Sea”. Early-career scientists and young professionals from the private sector, governmental agencies, and non-governmental organisations are invited to apply till the end of March for an online-place at the Summer School 2021.
