Nadezhda Filimonova

Nadezhda Filimonova is a research fellow at the IASS Arctic Governance Research Group. She is also a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Her research focuses on urban climate change governance in the Arctic. In the past, she has worked in Russian and Swedish research and education institutions. Mrs. Filimonova has been the recipient of numerous fellowships and awards and an author of several peer-reviewed publications. She taught courses on international relations, Arctic studies, and daily life in Soviet Russia. Mrs. Filimonova holds two Master's Degrees: one in Political Science and International Studies from Uppsala University and the other in International Relations from St. Petersburg State University.
