Héctor Rodríguez joined the IASS in September 2018 as a research associate with the COBENEFITS team. This project is part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI). The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) supports this initiative on the basis of a decision adopted by the German Bundestag. The COBENEFITS project cooperates with national authorities and knowledge partners to develop key insights that will enable them to mobilise these co-benefits in their countries and accelerate domestic processes aimed at achieving their international climate protection commitments.

Héctor Rodríguez obtained a Master´s degree in Economics, Politics, and Philosophy at the University of Hamburg, and a Bachelor´s in Economics and International Business at the University of Guadalajara. Héctor has more than 4 years of experience in the topics of climate policy, public institutions, and renewable energies. From 2016 to 2018 collaborated with the greenwerk, a climate advisory network in Hamburg. In addition, Hector completed internships at the German Institute of Global and Area Studies (GIGA) and at the employer's confederation COPARMEX Mexico.
