Headline: Expert Consultation: Shifting Decision Culture Through the Stakeholder

Shifting negotiation and decision culture through enhanced awareness and understanding of the inter-relationships among stakeholders, evidence and sustainable development dimensions is key to accelerating impacts. Over the course of the last two years, through consultations and partnerships with UNICEF, the national and local Government actors of Kenya, the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Sciences and others, the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF) has continued to shape the interactive processes necessary for shifting decision culture through a decision hub known as the Stakeholder Approach to Risk Informed and Evidence Based Decision Making (SHARED) process.

Based on the experiences to date in the SHARED “lab”, an expert consultation on “Shifting Decision Culture Through the Stakeholder Approach to Risk Informed and Evidence Based Decision Making (SHARED)” aims to take stock of our capacity to challenge the heuristics of decision-making and promote better decisions based on facilitated interactions and negotiations using evidence and information. A small number of critical thinkers will discuss ways of accelerating a paradigm shift that can lead to greater sustainable development outcomes. This one-day workshop among a small group of external and IASS colleagues takes place at IASS on October 22.
