Futurisation of Politics

The decisions that we make today in relation to issues such as the storage of radioactive waste, climate change, or coal mining can affect people, societies, and ecosystems far into the future. How can we deal with the uncertainties that surround our future? And how can we ensure that the uncertainty of our knowledge with respect to the future is reflected in science and policy? The Futurisation of Politics project endeavours to weave the insights of philosophical, political, economic and social-psychological perspectives into a deep time horizon. This research explores how contemporary decision-making in politics, society, and the economy can be better aligned with the uncertainties of our future – and the measures necessary to achieve this.
