Friderike Kuik has been a research associate at the IASS since 2014 and is currently a PhD candidate at the Freie Universität Berlin. In her work for the IASS project “Air quality modelling for policy advice” she focuses on air quality in the Berlin-Brandenburg region, in particular on the question of how changes in air pollutant emissions impact air quality. Friderike works with the “Weather Research and Forecasting Model” to find the optimal model configuration for urban air quality studies with high model resolution. She studied physics at the University of Marburg and the University of Potsdam. Her Master’s thesis, which she completed at the IASS, was awarded the physics study prize of the Berlin Physical Society.
