Eva Soederman joined the IASS as the new Head of Press & Communications in the summer of 2016. After studying political science in Munich and New Jersey, she worked as a journalist for several TV channels in Germany. In 1999, she moved into the field of public relations and served as the Head of Media and Public Relations at the Jewish Museum Berlin for almost ten years. She turned to environmental issues in 2008, when she became Chief Communications Officer at NABU (Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union Germany), a major environmental NGO. Under her leadership, NABU’s communications team placed first in a ranking conducted by industry journal PR-Magazin of the online communications and media work of NGOs around the Copenhagen Climate Summit. In 2013, she launched a PR and social media consultancy. She has lectured at the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin and was the Co-head of Communications at the Berlin Wall Foundation around the 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Prior to joining the IASS, she was the Media and Public Relations Officer at the German Climate Consortium, the umbrella association of German climate research organisations.
