Damian Harrison joined RIFS (then IASS) in 2016 as an in-house translator and editor. He holds a Master's degree in English Studies (Anglistik) from the University of Bremen and wrote his thesis on post-colonial literature in Aotearoa New Zealand. Prior to joining RIFS, he worked for eight years as a freelance translator and editor in Wellington (NZ) and Berlin, specialising in the fields of climate and energy policy, development cooperation, social research, culture, and European history. He is the first (and only) Kiwi to run the Müritz Ultramarathon (75 km) around Germany's largest lake.
