Headline: Workshop: Solar Radiation Management Impacts

Solar Radiation Management (SRM) has been proposed as a potential way to reduce the risks of climate change. The injection of reflective aerosol particles into the stratosphere may prove to be a feasible way to lower global temperatures, but its consequences are currently unclear. There have been many studies on the climate response to SRM, but little work has been done on whether or not it could reduce the impacts of climate change on human societies and ecosystems.

The IASS is hosting a workshop on the climate impacts of SRM on March 9 and 10. Researchers from several European countries and the United States will be taking an important step towards answering the question of whether or not SRM could reduce the risks of climate change. Their findings will be published in a review paper.
