Conference: Futures Past: Experts, Development and Sustainability

Date:
Thu, 04/28/2016 to Fri, 04/29/2016

The main goal of the interdisciplinary conference is to advance our understanding of expertise, knowledge and power in different political, social and economic areas and arenas in the modern and contemporary world rather than looking at a particular policy arena or particular region.   Examining the changing nature of expertise and the changing position of experts vis-à-vis other societal actors will provide insights on the socio-political dynamics of transitions and how societies have reflected on these changes. The conference will bring together speakers who have examined experts in a number of contexts in the twentieth century.
