Headline: Teaching Sustainability in Secondary High School: Challenges and Lessons

When teenagers are challenged to discuss the role that individuals and systems can play in creating a sustainable world, the result is often stimulating and unexpected discussions. Sweden has decided that teaching of sustainability needs to be introduced early in the school curriculum. Dónal Gaynor, a teacher at the Kunskapsgymnasiet school in Malmö, Sweden, will present practical examples and case studies, provide background on the history and legal requirements of teaching sustainability in Sweden, and discuss future challenges of teaching sustainability at secondary high school level.
