  • Serah Kiragu-Wissler joined IASS in May 2015 as a Research Associate in the accompanying research to the global programme “Soil Rehabilitation and Protection for Food Security”.
  • Before IASS, she worked as natural resource management specialist at the Embassy of Finland in Nairobi, Kenya. Between 2008 and 2013, she undertook PhD studies at University of Bayreuth, and researched on climate change adaptation in an agro-pastoral community in Kenya. She has extensive experience managing environmental conservation projects in East Africa while working for the International Union for Conservation of Nature – IUCN in Nairobi, Kenya.
  • Serah holds a PhD in Social Geography from the University of Bayreuth - Germany; an M.Phil in Environment Planning and Management from Moi University, Eldoret-Kenya and a Bachelor of Environmental Studies from Kenyatta University, Nairobi-Kenya.
